Description
Originally commissioned by the Sónar Festival Barcelona and CTM Berlin, CORTEX by the Kianí del Valle Performance Group delves into the liminal realms between life and death, solitude and connection. Drawing upon extensive research into the remarkable resilience of the human brain—which sustain consciousness even in the face of bodily decline. The piece features dynamically evolving choreography and direction by Kianí del Valle, in collaboration with Barcelona-based visual artists Hamill Industries and an original sound score by renowned Argentinian music producer Tayhana.The ethos of this project is rooted in fluidity and equitable collaboration, where each performer’s unique history and interpretation of death enriches the collective process.
